Clutter is much more than just things scattered here and there. It is a “lifestyle” that often causes confusion and tension. You probably don’t have a clean house sometimes.
Because of this, we want to give you some tips that will help you organize your home. These tips can also be used on other premises, for example, at work.
The organization takes time. No one can deny that. However, once you get used to it, you can be more organized in any environment. You will be able to get rid of the feeling of tension and stress.
How To Keep A Clean House
Take a few hours next weekend to clean your house and put everything in its place. Of course, then you will need to maintain the habit. However, when you see how good everything looks, you’ll want to make an effort to avoid clutter in the future.
1. Start in one place
Start in a specific place, such as the living room. You should start with the first room that you can see when you go home.
- Look at what is out of place and put it in place.
- Bring things from other rooms if they are from this one. You can then take care of them as you move on to the next room.
2. Find a specific place for each thing
Just keep kitchen utensils and food in the kitchen, books, and magazines in the library, clothes, and shoes in the closet, etc. You need to define a specific place for everything so that it is easier to find it later.
If you need a coat, look for it by the door, not on the sofa. This will save you a lot of time when you are in a rush and can’t find what you want.
3. Follow the organizational plan
You can also have a cleaning plan for each room. For example, putting all the dirty clothes in a drawer and then in the washing machine. Or throw all the trash, make the bed, put clean clothes in the closet, and put the furniture back in its place.
If you follow a plan in each room, cleaning will be much easier. Remember, to be more organized, you need a strategy. That way, you won’t be cleaning all weekend.
4. Throw away things you don’t use
You probably don’t use so many things in your home. These can be old things or those that are not needed for one reason or another.
It’s time to throw them away. You can also repair them or give them to charity.
Accumulation of things is one of the causes of clutter. This is because you stack things that don’t have a specific place, on the floor, on a chair, or in a closet.
5. Dirty things must be washed
Once your house is clean and tidy, keeping it organized can be the hardest part. However, it just depends on changing your habits.
6. Use boxes or folders
There are often things that you don’t want to throw away or donate because they are very valuable to you. They may be necessary even if you don’t use them often.
A great solution is to buy decorated boxes or reusable boxes for different items (like appliances). That way, you won’t surround yourself with clutter.
Don’t forget to label them so you know what’s in the boxes. Then put them under your bed or on the last shelf of your closet. You can also put them in your garage or on some shelves.
7. Buy new furniture
Maybe you have a problem with the order because you don’t have enough furniture to store things.
This doesn’t mean that you should completely fill your home with furniture, or that furniture shouldn’t be an excuse for you to keep buying things you don’t need.
However, this could solve the clutter problem and you would be able to put everything in the new closet.
